The Supreme is PLiXiR’s flagship Balanced AC power cable. It is the ultimate expression of PLiXiR’s proprietary Balanced AC power cable architecture and is a vast improvement over our first Balanced AC power cable, the Statement.
Thick gauge UPOCC (Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Casting Process) copper conductors are utilised throughout the cable. The improved conductor purity, reduced structural grain and stress improves the current delivery of the cable, while imparting a sound with more body, nuanced and inner details.
The geometry of the balanced cable architecture is further optimised, improving the common mode noise rejection, reducing the noise floor further while retaining the speed and neutral tone of the cable.
Premium Furutech FI-46 NCF Gold Plated Connectors, along with end point vibration damping materials with better shielding are employed in the final cable termination. It is worth to note that the Supreme power cable is specifically designed with the connectors in mind, ensuring a secure, long lasting end-to-end low impedance connection.
UPOCC Process
The UPOCC process for refining copper and silver was developed and patented by Professor Ohno of the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan.
UP-OCC stands for Ultra-Pure Ohno Continuous Casting. It is the name given to the casting process developed to help improve the annealing of the conductor and reduce grain boundaries in copper or silver. The OCC casting method uses specialized heated moulds to draw a single crystal up to 125 meters in length. With only a single crystal in very long lengths, there is an unimpeded free path for the best possible signal transfer. Along with this superior single long crystal structure, OCC provides copper and silver with the least possible oxides and other impurities. It is a vast improvement on standard TPC (tough-pitch copper) and OFC (oxygen free copper).
Balanced Power Delivery
Our Signature BPC is specifically designed to provide high current balanced power delivery. The geometry of the high current carrying wire within power cable is optimised for high current delivery in balance mode. Exception efforts are spent to make sure the live and neutral conductors are placed in the correct geometry throughout the cable, enabling the common mode noise rejection of balanced power cable is maintained throughout the cable.
Of particular note here is the use of the excellent Furutech power connectors which our Signature BPC cables are designed to fit. Besides exceptional sounding, their special design allows us to maintain the balanced connection right up to the power pin of the connector, maintaining true balanced power propagation from end to end. Optimum copper conductor to connector is achieved, enabling the lowest contact impedance and providing instantaneous high current delivery to satisfy your system demands.
