General : The Magico S3 MK1 is a closed 3-way reference loudspeaker with an enclosure made of solid aluminium.
Technique : You can see the Magico S3 MK1 as the natural successor to the outstandingly tested Magico V3 loudspeaker, the loudspeaker where it all started at Magico, along with the Mini II. For its time, the Magico S3 MK1 was a very modern and advanced loudspeaker. Even today, the Magico S3 MK1 still stands its ground among today's loudspeakers. The two bass woofers per speaker are Magico's Hybrid Nanotec Aluminium woofers. The midrange driver is a Nanotec driver. Nanotec is a very light and stiff material that has low distortion and colouration. The tweeter is a highly dynamic Beryllium tweeter. The sensitivity of this enclosed aluminium speaker is a neat 88dB, however, they do require some power at higher volumes so a stable amplifier is desirable. Think of a Pass Labs, Nagra, Aavik Acoustics or Bricasti amplifier.
Sound : The first thing you notice when listening to the Magico S3 MK1 is a tremendous beauty in every detail. Voices and instruments sound very transparent and clear. Bass reproduction is very tight and rhythmic. Especially with music where there is a lot happening such as orchestral music, big band jazz and certain electronic music, you get to hear all the information from the recording very well. The speakers disappear through the spatial and deep soundstage and you will rediscover your favourite recordings with the Magico S3 MK1.
This set of Magico S3 MK1 comes in the elegant M-Cast Black finish and is in absolute new condition. Also available are the original wooden crate and accessories. The serial numbers are 00645 & 00646.
