The GX-75 has three motors. Three heads, dual capstan, direct drive deck. Heavy and solid device with wear-resistant tone heads. Drive, power supply and electronics are housed in 3 separate compartments of the stable housing.
The always critical German testers gave it top stars with the advice not to use cheap type 1 ferro tape, they praised the ease of use and rated the price/quality ratio with “sehr gut”.
The GX-75 has been in production without until 1991, which is a long time in the world of audio and therefore a good sign. The Akai is in very good condition with little or no signs of wear. The display is immaculate and crystal clear, the lighting is beautiful.
