These Japanese 'High-End' TAD Micro Evolution One speakers in high-gloss piano black from 2019 are in excellent condition and come with the original stands. TAD loudspeakers are regarded worldwide as one of the best manufacturers of 'high-end' loudspeakers. For over 40 years, these Japanese 'perfectionists' have made speakers sound as coherent and realistic as possible.
What is unique about the current Micro Evolution One is that it is a 3-way speaker in a very compact housing. This has the advantage of getting a much more open midrange and a more physically tangible sound image of all voices and instruments. These TAD speakers can create a deep and large holographic 3D sound image.
Voices and instruments are direct and in the correct proportions (compact and therefore intimate) in a physically tangible perspective. This ensures that you become much more one with all your music. You are almost drawn into the music. The realism in sound is at an ultimate level where the layers in sound increase the emotion and intensity.
The low driver is made of composite with Kevlar, which creates a very stiff and, above all, ultra-light driver. This gives you a very tight and controlled low end where the layering makes every nuance in the low end audible. The concentric mid and high driver ensures the perfect transition between the mid and high frequencies.
The center driver is made of magnesium (ultralight) and a Beryllium tweeter is used. This continues up to 60 kHz. Beryllium's main advantage is that it never causes harshness in the sound. Also in the mid and high frequencies you not only hear the enormous openness, but what is more special is the grip and authority in the high frequencies.
The TAD ME1 weighs no less than 20 kilos each. The people at TAD have chosen an MDF cabinet with 4mm thick steel plates on the outside. This has allowed them to create a cabinet in which resonances are minimized. The bass port is located in the center on the side of the loudspeaker. This has the advantage of placing the speakers close to the wall if desired.
These speakers are supplied with the original TAD ME1 stands of 1990 euros. And weigh no less than 16 kilos each. TAD has specially designed these stands for the ME1.
