This streamer pairs perfectly with DAC's that are based on 16 bit or 18 bit DAC chips that often sound superior and more analogue than DAC's based on current chip-sets. This is a unique feature, as no other streamer offers properly dithered outputs for lower resolutions than 24 bits. This makes the MU1 the ideal streaming source for owners of Audio Note DACs and alike.
The MU1 works with ROON but Grimm are working on a software update to allow the streamer to work with other player software. The MU1 is known to be hardly sensitive to the slight sound quality variances that sequential ROON updates have resulted in. This is also applicable to the network cabling and switch with which the MU1 connects to a NAS, if used, or the internet for streaming music.
