For sale: Bricasti Design M1 SE DAC with built-in M5 network streamer and remote control. Can be driven as a ROON streaming endpoint via the network but also has many other digital inputs. I'm selling it due to an upgrade, but this is truly one of the best DACs in its price range. The new price in this version was around €14,000.
The Bricasti M1 SE is the successor to the first in a series of high-end products from the manufacturer, the Bricasti M1 Classic. It is one of the first fully Dual Mono constructed DA converters in the world. Built to ultra-high standards and with a very long lifespan. The Bricasti M1 SE is a fully Dual Mono constructed DA converter and has been improved in several areas compared to the M1 Classic. The Bricasti M1 SE has, like the M1 Classic, 2 Mono 24 Bit DA converters built into one housing. Each channel uses a Stereo ADI-1955 DA converter in a fully balanced mono configuration. However, the M1 SE is point-to-point soldered. The M1 SE also features specially designed Stillpoint feet for this model, and the power supply has been enlarged.
The Bricasti M1 SE is a DA converter of unparalleled quality. The sound is completely analog, without any digital harshness. The soundstage is impressively large and exciting, with rich dynamics. The reproduction of voices is also remarkable, with pure construction and exact placement. Compared to the M1 Classic, the M1 SE sounds faster, more open, and more dynamic.
