For the nerds:
Technically the DAC is based on the vintage PCM1702 D/A converter from Burr Brown in its latest SMD version. To get this old vintage chip up in speed, the master clock is skipped, and instead of a normal digital filter with interpolation, a 64 bit high speed shiftregister feeds the digital I2S signals directly into the D/As. This is better known as NOS (NonOversampling) with a much more natural and analogue sound, like the impression of a turntable.
Selecting the inputs and driving the shiftregister a double quad MUX is implemented which also signal shaping the incoming I2S signals to perfection to avoiding jitter and noise and in combination of a impedance corrections in the PCB layout it gives the analogue output stage the best converted signal possible, so a filterless analogue solution is possible still without any kind of quantization noise. Therefore the only component in the analogue current to voltage converter beyond the class-A amplifier is a special carbon feedback resistor from Riken ohm.
The PSU is designed so every sub circuit has it's own class-A shunt regulatorer bypassed with non microphonic MgO2 solid alu tantalum capacitors. The result is an even cleaner, more detailed, analog and nuanced sound that makes your music experience incomparable.
