General : The Aavik U-380 is a powerful and versatile amplifier. Equipped with an optimally adjustable MC phono stage and a D/A Converter for PCM and DSD signals.
Engineering : The Aavik U-380 is very solidly built, the housing is a sleek design and of solid CNC milled aluminium. On the front is a large round rotary knob that controls volume or input selection. The built-in phono stage is for MC elements and is adjustable from 50 ohms to 10,000 ohms. The D/A Converter in the U-280 features 2 BNC inputs, 2 Toslink inputs and a USB input. The BNC inputs can convert PCM signals up to 24bit/192kHz, the Toslink inputs can convert PCM signals up to 24bit/96kHz and the USB input can convert both PCM signals up to 24bit/192kHz and DSD signals up to DSD128. For noise cancelling, Active Tesla Coil technology is used, which is still used today in Aavik Acoustics' new U-X88 series.The internal wiring also features Tesla Coil technology for eliminating noise inside the amplifier. With its 300 watts per channel at 8 ohms and even 600 watts per channel at 4 ohms, the Aavik U-280 can easily drive almost all speakers on the market. The Aavik U-380 stands on Ansuz Darkz Feet under which Ansuz Darkz decouplers (optional) can be placed, this greatly improves the sound and is therefore highly recommended.
Sound : The Aavik U-380 sounds very dynamic, transparent and lively. The spatial image is large and airy, the music is rhythmic and clean. Especially in acoustic live recordings and percussion, you can hear the rhythm and speed that the Aavik U-380 possesses. Electronic music also sounds spectacular and powerful. The Aavik U-380 adds virtually no colouration to the sound, so you can clearly hear the performers in the recording as it is intended. The Aavik U-380 lets you hear details with the greatest of ease that you could not perceive before without straining your ears.
This Aavik Acoustics U-380 is in new condition and comes complete with its original packaging and accessories. Remote operation is done with the included Apple remote.
