Naim Audio Naïm 252 + SuperCap DR

The NAC 252 is directly descended from the NAC 52 and is still one of the best preamplifiers ever made.

The power components are exceptionally clear and are located in a separate housing: the SuperCap DR power supply unit.

This ensures optimal isolation from electromagnetic interference and provides each of the ten audio circuits with an independent, fully regulated supply voltage. In addition, separate power supplies for the digital control and switching circuits further isolate the audio circuits from noise.

TECHNOLOGY:

Many designs were studied for the NAC 252 and a full assessment of the circuit topology and components was conducted in line with the developments pioneered in preamps such as the NAC52. Hundreds of hours were spent listening to different designs, so that harmony between music and technology was always maintained.

Ten independently controlled power supplies are powered from the matching SuperCapDR power supply. Fully separate regulated power supplies for digital control and switching ensure that no noise is generated in the audio circuits.

The use of a separate whisper-quiet power supply ensures a noticeable increase in musicality throughout the system.

The large nuclear transformer and the high-quality capacitors provide exceptional stability.
